We all dream. Some we have come to accept that they will never happen- for example, I don’t think anyone will be growing a pair of wings and flying to the Moon any time soon; but we also have different dreams too. Goals. Things we want to do in life, whether it be to become an actor or a doctor; smaller things too that are perhaps more short term like wanting to run 5K without stopping.
It may feel like at the moment, especially during lockdown, that there might be no point in dreaming because it feels like things are going to be like ‘this’ forever. It can make us forget our dreams, which is never a good thing.
So for this week, I challenge you to write down your dream. Write it down. Stick it onto a notice board and everyday when you look at that board it will remind you that despite everything that is going on at the moment, you still have something to work towards. Whether it be long term or short term, it doesn’t not matter. A dream is a dream, and will always be a dream without determination and persistence.
Nelson Mandela was definitely a man who never gave up and was South Africa’s first black Head of State.
